What I've been processing...
I took the liminal time on Election Day morning to share an update on what I’ve been writing, reading and contemplating in the last few months. Let me know what you think!
New posts
✨ Wouldn’t you?
Tim Urban shared an excerpt from the final installment of WaitButWhy’s Story of Us series, which inspired this post about how everyone really is doing the best they can.
📏 High standards, low expectations
I’ve been working on articulating my personal philosophy (why is for another post…). One part coming into focus is the notion of holding high standards, but low expectations.
🔁 Freedom through routine
I used to be self-conscious about how much I loved routine, thinking it indicated rigidity. Now I look at routines not as constrictors, but enablers.
🧠 Architecting the mind
There’s so much we still don't know about the mind. Everyone from neurobiologists to Yuval Noah Harari has tried to interpret what it is and how it works. So while I’m certain my views on this topic will evolve, I wanted to capture my current fascination with the potential of neuroplasticity.
🧪 Emotional decomposition
Life improves when we can transform unproductive feelings into useful ones. I started thinking about this when feeling envy, which I realized can decompose into inspiration or resentment.
